元明粉在印染上的用途
（一）作直接染料等染棉促染剂 用直接染料、硫化染料、还原染料及印地科素染料染棉时，可用元明粉作促染剂。
（二）作直接染料染丝缓染剂 直接染料在蛋白质纤维上的应用，以丝绸的染色为多，所得染色牢度较一般酸性染料为佳。
（三）作酸性染料缓染剂 用酸性染料染丝、毛等动物纤维时，往往加硫酸及醋酸，以促进色素酸的上色，但同时也加元时粉作缓染剂。
（四）作印铧丝织物精练时的地色保护剂 在精练印花或染色丝织物时，染料可能被剥落，以致沾污地色或其它同练织物。
